Incense has been used since ancient times for spiritual rituals and ceremonies. Its virtues, both relaxing and energizing, invite meditation. This essential oil can be used orally with caution and preferably under the supervision of a health professional or aromatherapist. Many "burning" woods or stones are sometimes called incense and used to embalm the home or for meditation. Real incense, or Frankincense with therapeutic and medicinal properties, comes only from the gum of the Boswelia carterii shrub. The other names certainly have a pleasant smell, but they do not offer the virtues mentioned above.

Extraction method: total and complete steam distillation (our essential oil contains all of the aromatic principles of the plant), extracted without solvent, non-terpene.

Botanical family: Burseraceae

Yield: 3 to 8%. This means that it takes 12 to 33 kg of frankincense resin to obtain 1 kg of frankincense essential oil. Yield may vary depending on season, region, type of crop, or from one year to the next. The lower the yield, the more valuable and expensive the essential oil will be.

Solubility: All essential oils are soluble in oil or oily raw materials. To permanently mix an essential oil in water, they must first be dissolved in a dispersant such as Disper.
